Dan Haggerty was an American actor who starred on the television series, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams. He was born on November 19, 1941 in Pound, Wisconsin. Growing up, he helped family member raise and train wild animals including a black bear. He moved to California immediately after high school to pursue a career in acting.

CAREER
Haggerty made his debut in the 1964 film ‘Muscle Beach Party’ doing non-speaking roles. He played a bodybuilder in the 1965 romantic comedy ‘Girl Happy’ starring Elvis Presley. He also worked as an animal trainer and stuntman on various movie and television projects. He played his biggest role as “Grizzly Adams” on the 1974 film ‘The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams’ and the NBC television series of the same name. Other notable films and television appearances include ‘Repo Jake’, ‘Grizzly Mountain’, ‘Big Stan’, ‘Condominium’ and ‘American Pickers’.

Dan Haggerty had a net worth of $2.5 million. He was 6ft 1in tall and wore a full bushy beard. He died on January 15, 2016 at the age of 74. His reported cause of death was spinal cancer. He was married to first wife “Diane Rooker” from 1959 to 1984 and they had two daughters (Tracey and Tammy). He was married to “Samantha Hilton” from 1984 to her death in 2008. They had three children together, (Dylan, Megan and Cody).
