ORIGIN
Dalex is an urban Latin singer, songwriter, and composer originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Rich Music signee is known for songs like “Cuaderno”, “Pa Mi”, “Vuelva A Ver – Remix” and “Lucete.” His discography includes the album, Climaxxx (2019), and the EPs, La Nueva Ola (2018) and License to Trap (2018). As for collaboration, Dalex has worked with Justin Quiles, Farruko, Dimelo Flow and Bryant Myers among others. He was a member of the music duo Jayma y Dalex.

Given name, Pedro David Daleccio Torres, he was born on October 7, 1990, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He spent his early childhood in the municipality of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. His parents divorced when he was about 11 years old. Following his parents’ split, Dalex moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania. He moved back to Puerto Rico at age 12. Dalex drew early musical inspiration from the likes of Wisin, Yandel, Daddy Yankee and Don Omar. He penned his first song at age 18. However, the Latin star initially wanted to become a barber. He completed barber school and later worked at a barbershop in Florida. He was discovered by music executive David Torres (head of Anakin Entertainment).

CAREER
Prior to his solo career, Dalex performed as one-half the duo Jayma and Dalex. Their debut single “Me Encantas” was released in 2014 by Anakin Entertainment. A follow-up single “Lento” alongside Cosculluela followed in May 2014. Jayma and Dalex premiered their EP, The Akademy, that same month. It was supported by the song “Aquellos Tiempos.” The duo’s debut album, Gravedad, arrived in October 2015. It featured guest vocals from Jory Boy (“Encendia Lucia”), Pusho (“Duro Sin Miedo”), and Justin Quiles (“Mia”). Their next project, Declassified, was released in February 2016. It featured songs like “Tu Primera Vez” and “El Momento.”

Dalex is currently signed to Rich Music. The label is independently owned by Richard Mendez and his son Joshua. Rich Music is home to Justin Quiles, Sech, Dimelo Flow and Magnifico. Dalex’s 6-track EP, La Nueva Ola, was released in October 2018. It included songs “Pa Mi”, “Vuelva a Ver” and “Lucete.” The remixed version of “Pa Mi” with Rafa Pabon, Sech, Cazzu, Feid, Khea, and Lenny Tavarez topped charts in 10 Latin American countries. The official video received 72 million YouTube views in the first 6 weeks.

A second EP, License to Trap, was released in June 2018. It featured labelmate Dimelo Flow on 5 of the 6 tracks. Dalex’s debut studio album, Climaxxx, was released in May 2019 by Rich Music. The track-list includes “Hola”, ‘Sola” and “Cuaderno” featuring Nicky Jam, Justin Quiles, Sech, Lenny Tavarez, Feid and Rafa Pabon. Additional guest appearances were also made by Lyanno, Rauw Alejandro, Khea, Cauty, Miky Woodz, and a few others.
