Comethazine is an American rapper and songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. He rose to prominence on the SoundCloud platform, now with 225K+ followers and more than 150 million spins. His standout tracks include “Walk”, “Piped Up”, “Bands”, “Might Cop a Jag” and “Let It Eat” featuring Ugly God. The Alamo Records signee has released albums Bawskee (2018) and Bawskee 2 (2019). Comethazine was born Jahmier Velazquez on July 6, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised in the city of East St. Louis in St. Clair County. Growing up, he was diagnosed with ADHD as a child. Comethazine reportedly dropped out of high school. He enrolled in night classes in order to complete his diploma.

CAREER
Comethazine began pursuing music seriously at age 17. His early music influences include 50 Cent, Rick James, Chief Keef, Nipsey Hussle and Lil B. The stage name “Comethazine” was coined by combining the words ‘cocaine’? and ‘promethazine’. One of Comethazine’s first SoundCloud tracks “Bozo” was uploaded in September 2016. The track was produced by Eldrick. It has since received more than 1.8+ million plays. His debut EP, Aloe Vera, was released in August 2016 by Wang Gang Ent. It included three songs “Venezuelan Foreign”, “Juice” and “Boi”. His other 2016 songs included “Run it” and “Alfalfa” featuring EyeKeem. Comethazine dropped his “Hella Choppers” (Remix) in February 2017. He was featured on the single “Materialistic” from Cleo Fox’s album, PressPlay (2017). The official visual for his “Shoot Me” single was released to Adam22‘s No Jumper channel in November 2017.

Comethazine inked a recording contract with Todd Moscowitz’s Alamo Records in November 2017. His label mates include Smokepurpp and Wifisfuneral. He closed out 2017 with the singles “Baw$kee”, “Let Me In” and “Piped Up.” The latter was produced by ChaseTheMoney. It has more than 7 million plays on SoundCloud and another 8+ million views on YouTube. The video was directed by Lonewolf. Comethazine kicked off 2018 with songs like “Wet”, “Wake Up”, “Stop That Sh*t” and “Blessings.” He worked with producers Danny Wolf and Otxhello on the single “1 Shot”, released in February 2018. Comethazine collaborated with Ugly God on the track “Let It Eat”, produced by Ronny J. It garnered more than 1 million spins in the first 7 days.

Bawskee, Comethazine’s debut studio album was released in August 2018 by Alamo Records. It was led by singles “Walk”, “Bands” and the aforementioned “Let It Eat” with Ugly God. Guest appearances were made by Lil Yachty and DJ Mustard on tracks “Bring Dat Bag Out” and “Sticks Out The Window” respectively. The album’s production was handled by Danny Wolf, Foreign Heat, Ronny J, and a few others. The second installment, Bawskee 2, was released in January 2019. It had no features. The project was supported by songs like “DeMar DeRozan”, “Nonsense” and “I Be Damned.”
