Clare Crawley is an American hairstylist and reality star from Sacramento, California. In March 2020, she was announced as the lead for season 16 of The Bachelorette. Crawley previously won fans over after she competed on season 18 of The Bachelor starring Juan Pablo Galavis. Her television credits also includes Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelor Winter Games.

Crawley was born on March 20, 1981, in Sacramento, California. She has 5 older sisters, including Lara. Crawley lost her father to brain cancer in 2004. She speaks very highly of him and hopes to marry someone as strong and compassionate as he was.

CAREER
In March 2014, Clare made her television debut in The Bachelor franchise. She became a contestant on season 18th of ABC’s The Bachelor with Juan Pablo Galavis. Crawley faced stiff competition from the likes of Nikki Ferrell, Andi Dorfman, and Renee Oteri among others. She ultimately finished in 2nd place.

Determined to find love, Crawley appeared on the first two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise. The first season ran from August to September 2014. She voluntarily left during week 5. The second season ran from August to September 2015. She was eliminated during week 3. Also in 2015, Crawley made 2 guest appearances on Good Morning America. She was a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in December 2016.

Clare returned to the small screen in February 2018 as a contestant on The Bachelor Winter Games. During the 4 episode series, she was caught up in a love triangle involving Christian Rauch and Benoit Beausejour-Savard. She split during the third episode. With that said, it was later revealed that Crawley and Benoit rekindled their relationship offscreen. The two got engaged on February 22, 2018, but called off the engagement 2 months later.

On March 2, 2020, it was revealed that Crawley would star on season 16 of ABC’s The Bachelorette. The announcement was made on Good Morning America. Other top candidates for the coveted spot included Tia Booth, Kendall Long, Tayshia Adams, Katie Morton, Hannah Brown (declined) and Kelsey Weier. Crawley will be 39 years by the time the show premiere on May 18, 2020. It makes her the oldest Bachelorette to date.
