Chris Pine is an American film, television, and theater actor. He portrayed the character “James T. Kirk” in Star Trek (2009) and two sequels. His film credits include The Princess Diaries 2 (2004), Just My Luck (2006), This Means War (2012), and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014). Pine was born Christopher Whitelaw Pine on August 26, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. His parents Robert Pine and Gwynne Gilford were both actors. He has an older sister named Katherine. Pine attended the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated in 2002 with a BA degree in English literature. He also studied at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

CAREER
Pine made his television debut on a 2003 episode of the medical drama series ER. He followed up with guest appearances in The Guardian, CSI Miami, American Dreams, and Six Feet Under. His feature film debut was The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) where he played the love interest of Anne Hathaway’s character. Pine starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in the romantic comedy, Just My Luck (2006). He was later cast as “Darwin Tremor”, a villainous neo-Nazi in Smoking Aces (2007).

Pine starred as “James T. Kirk” in the sci-fi adventure, Star Trek (2009). He won a Scream Award for his performance. The film was directed and produced by J. J. Abrams. The role of captain James Kirk was reprised in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond (2016). Pine held the title role as “Jack Ryan” in the action spy thriller, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014).
