Chris Martin is an English singer, songwriter, rhythm guitarist and pianist. He’s co-founder and lead vocalist of the alternative rock band, Coldplay. He was born Christopher Anthony John Martin on March 2, 1977 in Exeter, Devon. He developed an early interest in music and created his first band, The Rocking Honkies, while attending Exeter Cathedral School. He completed his undergraduate degree in Ancient World Studies at University College London. Martin and Jonny Buckland co-created the band, Pectoralz, in 1996. The band was renamed, Starfish, after Guy Berryman and Will Champion joined. They renamed to Coldplay in 1998.

CAREER
Coldplay’s debut album, Parachutes, was released on July 10, 2000 by Parlophone Records. The album achieved commercial success and won a Grammy Award in 2002. They’ve released several studio albums to date including ‘A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002)’, ‘Viva la Vida (2008)’ and ‘A Head Full of Dreams (2015)’. Martin’s solo effort includes collaborations with artists like, Kanye West, Nelly Furtado, and Jay Z. He’s written songs for artists like Jamelia and for the pop group, Embrace. Chris Martin and the Coldplay band made their Super Bowl debut in February 2016. They performed alongside Beyonce and Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show.
