Chief Keef is an American rapper, music producer, and founder of Glo Gang. His discography includes Finally Rich (2012) and Bang 3 (2015). He’s currently signed to 1017 Records. Keef was born Keith Cozart on August 15, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois. His biological parents are Alfonso Cozart and Lolita Carter. He was raised by his grandmother in the Washington Park neighborhood of Chicago. Keef attended Dyett High School in his hometown. He dropped out before completing a diploma.

CAREER
Keef gained early attention through music videos posted to his YouTube account. He was particularly popular among local high school students. His debut mixtapes ‘The Glory Road’ and ‘Bang’ were released in 2011. A third mixtape ‘Back from the Dead’ was released in March 2012 by Glory Boyz Entertainment. It was produced by Young Chop and was led by the single “I Don’t Like” featuring Lil Reese. The song peaked at #73 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rapper Kanye West created a remix of the track with Big Sean, Pusha T and Jadakiss.

Keef’s debut studio album, Finally Rich, was released in December 2012 by Interscope Records. It spawned the singles “Love Sosa” and “Hate Bein’ Sober”. The album peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200. It featured guest artists like Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent, Master P and French Montana. Keef signed with Gucci Mane‘s 1017 Records in early 2013. He was featured on the single “Hold My Liquor” from Kanye’s 7th album Yeezus (2013). He was also added to the 2013 XXL Magazine’s Freshman Class.

Keef’s collaborative mixtapes include ‘Big Gucci Sosa (2014)’ with Gucci Mane, ‘Nobody (2014)’ with 12 Million, and ‘Almighty DP (2015)’ with DP Beats. His sophomore studio album, Bang 3, was released as a double album in 2015. It featured guest appearances from Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky and Lil B. Keef announced his intention to retire from the rap game in March 2016. He returned to the music scene with the 2017 mixtape, Two Zero One Seven.
