Charlie Sheen is an American television and film actor. He’s best known for the series Two and a Half Men, Spin City, and Anger Management. His film credits include Platoon (1986), Wall Street (1987), and Hot Shots! (1991). Sheen was born Carlos Irwin Estevez on September 3, 1965, in New York City. His father, Martin Sheen, is an actor, and his mother, Janet Templeton, is an actress/producer. He has three siblings, Ramon, Renee, and Emilio Estevez. Sheen attended Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, California. He was expelled before completing his diploma. He was school friends with actors Rob Lowe and Sean Penn.

CAREER
Sheen began his career with an uncredited role in the film The Execution of Private Slovik (1974). His first credited role was that of “Matt Eckert” in the war film, Red Dawn (1984). He followed up with more prominent roles in Silence of the Heart (1984) and The Boys Next Door (1985). Sheen starred as “Chris Taylor” in Oliver Stone’s anti-war flick, Platoon (1986). He co-starred opposite Michael Douglas in the drama, Wall Street (1987). Other notable films include Young Guns (1988) with Kiefer Sutherland, Eight Men Out (1988) with John Cusack, and The Three Musketeers (1993) with Chris O’Donnell. He voiced the character “Dex Dogtective” in the animated film, Foodfight! (2012).

Sheen held the lead role as “Charlie Crawford” in the ABC sitcom, Spin City. He appeared in 45 episodes from 2000 to 2002. A year later he was cast as “Charlie Harper” in the CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men. He held that role from season 1 through season 8 until he was replaced by actor Ashton Kutcher. Sheen starred as “Charlie Goodson” in the FX series, Anger Management. The show ran from June 2012 to December 2014 for a total of 100 episodes. Sheen has also made guest appearances on series like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and The Goldbergs. He lent his voice to Seth MacFarlane’s adult animated sitcom ‘Family Guy’ in 2010.

Sheen’s book of poetry ‘Peace of Mind’ was published in 1988. He co-founded the production company ‘Sheen/Michaels Entertainment’ in 1997 with singer Bret Michaels. Sheen launched his own line of kid’s clothing ‘Sheen Kidz’ in 2006. He’s also done endorsement for brands like American Express, Fiat, and Philip Morris Parliament cigarettes.
