Carmelo Anthony is an American professional basketball player currently signed to the Portland Trail Blazers. He stands 6ft 8in tall and plays the small forward position. His career history spans teams like the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. Anthony was born to parents Mary Anthony and Carmelo Iriarte on May 29, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York. His father died of liver failure when he was 2. He has siblings Robert and Michelle, and half-sister Daphne. Anthony grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Towson Catholic High School in Maryland followed by Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He continued his basketball career and education at Syracuse University.
