Calvin Harris is a Scottish DJ, music producer, singer and founder of Fly Eye Records. He was born Adam Richard Wiles on January 17, 1984 in Dumfries, Scotland. His father, David, is a biochemist and his mother, Pamela, a homemaker. He has two siblings, Sophie and Edward. Harris attended Dumfries High School in Marchmount, Dumfries. His first recordings “Da Bongos” and “Brighter Days” were released in 2002 by Prima Facie.

CAREER
Harris’s debut studio album, I created Disco, was released in June 2007 by Columbia Records. The album peaked at #8 on the UK Albums chart and featured the singles “Acceptable in the 80s”, “The Girls” and “Merrymaking at My Place”. His second album, Ready for the Weekend, was released two years later atop the UK Albums chart. The album’s lead single “I’m Not Alone” marked his first #1 hit on the UK Singles chart.

In 2012, Harris released his successful third album, 18 Months. It was certified platinum in Australia, Poland, Sweden and double platinum in the UK. The album has 9 top ten singles which includes “Let’s Go” with Ne-Yo, “I Need Your Love” with Ellie Goulding, and “Bounce” with Kelis. The UK record for most top ten singles from a single album was previously held by Michael Jackson. Harris’s fourth album, Motion, was released in 2014. He won his first Grammy Award in 2013 for the music video “We Found Love” with Rihanna. Other accolades include two NME Awards, and two American Music Awards.
