ORIGIN
Bobby V is an American R&B singer, songwriter and music producer. He was formerly known as Bobby Valentino. He’s best known for the singles “Slow Down” and “Anonymous”. His studio albums include Special Occasion (2007) and The Rebirth (2009). Bobby V was born Bobby Wilson on February 27, 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi. His parents are Margarett and Bobby L. Wilson. He has an older sister named Arle Michel. V grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended North Atlanta High School. He completed a BA degree in mass communications from Clark Atlanta University in 2004.

CAREER
Bobby V grew up listening to artists like Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. He joined the R&B group ‘Mista’ in 1996. The group’s self-titled debut album was released by Elektra and East West Records in July 1996. It produced the single “Blackberry Molasses” which peaked at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group disbanded in 1997. Bobby V’s self-titled debut solo album was released in April 2005. It was released by Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings. The album sold 64,000 copies during opening week. V won two Urban Music Awards in 2009 including one for best male artist.
