Blueface is an American rapper out of Los Angeles, California. He is currently signed to Birdman‘s Cash Money West label. In January 2018, he started getting noticed after releasing the hit single “Deadlocs” over SoundCloud. Since being released, the song has received over 2.5 million plays. Real name, Johnathan Porter, he was born on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. When he was a child, his parents moved around quite often, and thus, he attended various schools. In September 2017, Blueface took his talent online. He utilized SoundCloud and Instagram by sharing his tracks and building a fanbase. “Deadlocs”, his earliest banger, quickly garnered him spotlight attention. Released in January of 2018, the song, produced by Scum_beats, had record labels constantly ringing his phone. In 11 months, the track received well over 2 million plays on SoundCloud. A month later, Blueface followed up with another head-turner “Thothiana.” It, too, surpassed the 1 million milestone and got him major recognition. The later released music video (July 2018), racked up 2 million views on YouTube in 4 months. As his career blooms, he took time performing at various high schools and small venues.

Despite being in the game for a short period, Blueface’s career has made steady progress. To date, he has released two major projects, Famous Cryp, and Two Coccy. The altercation ended after a collision. No life-threatening injuries were reported. Both parties fled the scene. Despite being the victim, he was arrested shortly after for openly discharging a deadly weapon. Upon posting a $50,000 bond, he was released.

Blueface recently confirmed a new collaboration with Drake and Quavo. The off-beat rapper is also working with Lil Uzi Vert. Blueface’s recent track, Bleed It, has been creating quite the buzz. In 4 weeks, it established over 23 million streams. He’s also made headlines following his video chat with Tekashi69‘s ex-girlfriend. On February 1, 2019, Blueface was arrested in Los Angeles for illegal possession of a loaded gun. He believes LAPDs are targeting him due to his race.
