Baby Keem (2 Phone Baby Keem) is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. He’s wowed fans with tracks like “Orange Soda” and “Honest.” Keem is affiliated with TDE. His discography includes the mixtapes The Sound Of a Bad Habit (2018) and Die For My B!tch (2019). Keem has written and produced for recording artists ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock. His credits also include Kendrick Lamar‘s Black Panther The Album (2018) soundtrack and Disney’s The Lion King: The Gift (2019).

Keem was born Hykeem Carter on October 22, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada. His grandmother played a big role in his childhood. She was referenced in his song “Moshpit.” When asked how he got into music, he cited his older uncles and cousins as an early source of inspiration. Keem started out writing before he got into rapping and producing. His first legit track was called “Come Thru.” He was 15 when he recorded it. He co-wrote and produced singles “Knock It Off” and “Rotation 112th” for Jay Rock’s 3rd album, Redemption (2018). The album peaked at #13 on the Billboard 200 and won a Grammy for best rap performance.

Keem’s next EP, Hearts & Darts, was released in July 2018. He produced the entire project except for one song. His debut mixtape, The Sound Of a Bad Habit, arrived in October 2018. It featured production from multi-Platinum producer Cardo (former producer for Taylor Gang). The tracklist includes “Wolves”, “Xmen”, “Gang Activities” and “Check Please.” The music video for “Gang Activities” was directed by Shia LaBeouf. It has 50K+ views on YouTube.

In 2019, Keem contributed to ScHoolboy Q’s 5th album ‘Crash Talk.’ He was credited as a writer and producer on the track “Numb Numb Juice.” Later that year he was credited as a writer/producer on the single “Nile” on the soundtrack album, The Lion King: The Gift (2019). Keem’s second mixtape, Die For My B!tch, was released in July 2019. It boasted 14 tracks and featured production from DJ Dahi, Kal Banx, and Keanu Beats among others. It includes songs “Orange Soda”, “Honest”, “Invented It” and “France Freestyle.” The project will be supported by the ‘Die For My B!tch Tour.’
