ORIGIN
Asian Doll is an American hip-hop artist/rapper out of Dallas, Texas. A talented songwriter with feisty bars, her career came to life with breakout mixtapes “Da Rise of Barbie Doll Gang Empire”(2015), and “Drippin in Glo”(2016). Her beef with former friend Cuban Doll and Bali Baby also garnered unwanted attention. Despite being a Texas native, she lived in various locations. Los Angeles, California, and Atlanta, Georgia are two other places she once called home. Her mother who she calls an “O.G in the streets” also experimented with rapping back in the days. Asian Doll’s father was constantly in and out of prison. As she stated in an interview, my parents were “gangsters.” One of four siblings, she got into the rap game quite young.

She grew up listening to whatever means were available. Asian Doll draws her inspiration from Nicki Minaj, Future, Gangsta Boo, and the entire Young Money crew. Her stage name came about from her obsession with Asian culture.

CAREER
In 2015, Asian Doll hit airwaves with her first mixtape “Da Rise of Barbie Doll Gang Empire.” A 15-track project that featured a few collabs, it displayed her versatile ability and unique style. The next year, she followed up with two more releases; “Drippin in Glo” and “Project Princess Vol 1.” Both were well received and proved to be a commercial success. The first became her breakout hit.

After successful releases, rapper Lil Mister took note of her talent and connected with her. The two began working together and Lil Mister started producing many of her songs. Asian Doll also collaborated with PnB Rock on standout single “Poppin” and toured with Bhad Bhabie. Over the next few years, she released a constant flow of mixtapes; “Outtaspace”(2017), “Kill Bill Vol 1″(2017), “Doll SZN”(2018), and “So Icy Princess”(2018). Three of her notable tracks include “Janet Jackson,” “Nice to Me Yah,” and “Queen of Nightmares.” Throughout her endeavors, Asian Doll has established a massive social media fan base. Her Instagram account has over 1.2 million followers. In June 2018, Gucci Mane signed her to his 1017 Eskimo Records.

Asian Doll is also well known due to her beef with Cuban Doll and Bali Baby. Former close friends, both parties have publicly put down each other by using obscene language and vulgar gestures. People have also criticized the rapper’s public image. Her unusual skimpy attire, flashy hairstyles, and makeup have left some critics painting a negative picture.
