ORIGIN 
April Ross is an American beach volleyball player and 2009 world champion. She was born to parents Glen and Margie on June 20, 1982 in Costa Mesa, California. She has a sister named Amy. Ross attended Newport Harbor High School followed by the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in international relations.
CAREER
Ross was competitive in a number of sports including basketball, volleyball and track. She was honored with the Gatorade National Player of the Year award her senior year of high school. Ross continued her volleyball career at USC where she led the team in points, attacks and kills. She was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year her rookie season. She went on earned First Team All-American honors for 2002 and 2003.
Ross played alongside teammate Jennifer Kessy from 2007 to 2013. The duo competed and won several titles including gold at the 2009 World Championships in Norway. They also won silver at the 2012 Olympic games in London. Ross’ current teammate is fellow American Kerri Walsh Jennings. They’re scheduled to compete at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio.
