Anna Brooks Kooiman is an American news anchor and reporter for Fox News Channel. She also hosted Fox & Friends, and Fox News Extra. Kooiman was born to business parents on February 7, 1984 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Myers Park High School followed by the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. Kooiman served as a sideline reporter for the UNC Wilmington’s basketball team while attending college. She graduated in 2005 with an honors degree in communications studies.
CAREER
Kooiman began her professional career at WWAY-TV (ABC) in 2005 in Wilmington. She started out as an intern before earning the positions of reporter, anchor and video journalist. She moved to Toledo, Ohio in 2007 to work at WNWO-TV (NBC) as a morning anchor and reporter.
In 2008, Kooiman returned to Charlotte, North Carolina to host “Fox News Rising” on WCCB-TV (FOX). She reported on local news stories, entertainment, traffic and weather. Kooiman joined Fox News Channel in 2011 for coverage of New York City area. Her recent work include the 2015 special, All-American New Year live from Times Square in New York City. Kooiman is all about fitness. She’s AFAA and Turbo Kick Certified. She began teaching fitness classes in her hometown of Charlotte in 2008. She competed in the 2008 Glass City Marathon and the 2014 Boston and New York City Marathons.
