Angela Lansbury was an Award-winning film, television, and stage actress. She was also a producer, singer, and songwriter. Lansbury was best known for her lead role as “Jessica Fletcher” in the series, Murder, She Wrote. Her film credits include Gaslight (1944), The Manchurian Candidate (1962), and Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971). Angela Brigid Lansbury was born on October 16, 1925, in London, England. Her mother, Moyna, was an actress, and her father, Edgar, was a politician. She had three siblings, Bruce, Edgar, and Isolde. Lansbury and her family moved to the United States in 1940. She graduated from the Feagin School of Dramatic Art in New York City in 1942.
