Anderson Cooper is an American talk show host, new anchor and author. He’s best known for hosting the news show, Anderson Cooper 360, on CNN. Cooper was born on June 3, 1967 in New York City. His mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, is an artist, and his father, Wyatt Emory Cooper, was an author and screenwriter. He has two living brothers, Leopold and Christopher. A third brother named Carter committed suicide in 1988. Cooper attended Dalton School followed by Yale University. He graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in political science.

CAREER
Cooper grew up in the spotlight due to his famous mother. He was photographed by Diane Arbus for Harper’s Bazaar when he was just a baby. He also appeared in ads for companies like Ralph Lauren, Macy’s and Calvin Klein. Cooper interned with the Central Intelligence Agency from 1988 to 1989. After college, he worked as a fact checker for Channel One and later as chief international correspondent. Cooper made his debut with ABC News in 1995 as a correspondent. He co-anchored World News Now (1999), and hosted the reality show, The Mole (2000).

Cooper joined the crew at CNN shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attack. He co-anchored the morning show, American Morning (2002), with Paula Zahn. Cooper rose to prominence with his very own news show, Anderson Cooper 360. The show premiered on CNN on September 8, 2003. He’s covered big stories like the death of Pope John Paul II, and the Boston Marathon Bombing. Cooper also works as a correspondent for CBS News’ 60 Minutes. His book, Dispatches from the Edge, was published in 2006 by HarperCollins.

Anderson Cooper is 5ft 10in tall and has a net worth of $100 million. He makes upwards of $10 million per year in salary. Cooper is openly gay. He began a relationship with gay bar owner ‘Benjamin Maisani’ in 2009. In 2014, the two purchased the historic Rye House estate in Litchfield, Connecticut.
