Broner was ranked as the 5th pound-for-pound fighter in the world by The Ring Magazine in 2012. He has a professional record of 32 wins and 2 losses. Adrien Jerome Broner was born on July 28, 1989, in Cincinnati, Ohio. His parents are Dorothy Broner and Thomas Knight. He has a twin brother named Andre.

CAREER
Broner began boxing at an early age. He had an amateur record of 300 wins and 19 losses. He won back-to-back National Silver Gloves championships from 2002 to 2003. He finished in third place at the 2005 National Junior Olympics. Broner made his professional debut in May 2008 in the super featherweight division. He defeated Allante Davis by way of knock-out in the first round. Broner bested Puerto Rico’s Carlos Claudio in June 2010 for the WBC Youth Intercontinental super featherweight title. He defeated Vicente Martin Rodriguez of Argentina in November 2011 for the WBO super featherweight title.

Broner won the WBC lightweight title in November 2012 against Antonio DeMarco. He defended the title against Gavin Rees in February 2013. Broner recorded his first professional loss in December 2013 against Marcos Maidana. His second career loss was against Shawn Porter in June 2015. Broner held the WBA super lightweight title from 2015 to 2016. He was featured in the 2013 documentary, A Day in the Life.
