252 Lico Is Alive

ORIGIN
252 Lico is an upcoming American rapper from Pamlico, North Carolina. His hit single with popular rapper Da Baby which goes by the name of “Just Want” has garnered hundreds and thousands of fans. ‘Carolina Kush’, his debut mixtape, has also further expanded his popularity.

Given the name, Damian Joseph Norman, he was born on August 7th, 1992, in New Bern, North Carolina. His mother lived with his grandmother, an uncle, and two other family members in a small two-bedroom house in the middle of the country. His father who wasn’t around much went into the Navy. With hardly any resources, no income, or anyone to go to in his area, Damian still managed to make himself a buzz. He started out using the moniker “Dreel” but the rapper later changed his name after realizing that it wasn’t very marketable. The stage name “252 Lico” proved to be a better choice and it matched up nicely with his character.

CAREER
Growing up in a very poor area with a lot of crime and violence, Lico was pretty much always getting into trouble with the law. After graduation, he found himself in an out of Pamlico and Craven County Correctional Facilities. The North Carolina native ended up spending 5 years on probation. During his probation, Lico started rapping and writing music – using whatever resources he could find. Lico was always passionate about music. By age 4, he was already singing in his local church choir with his mother. With Lico growing up in the early 2000 era of the music scene, he was drawn to the likes of Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, and Eminem.

In 2017, 252 Lico began releasing tracks on SoundCloud among other platforms. His first successful single was called “Ballin.” The song got over 145k views on YouTube. After continuing to upload more videos and tracks, many local record labels, promoters, and artists began to take note of his talent. Lico has also done opening performances for Riff Raff, 21 Savage, Ralo, Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti and many other buzzing artists. The rapper was nominated for “best new artist” at a local music award by the name of the “Carolina Music Awards.” Following the nomination, Lico signed his first deal with the Indie label “Hazardous Records”, based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. After agreeing to this deal, the rapper realized that it was not in his best interest. He immediately terminated the contract.

252 Lico’s most successful project arrived in 2017 after meeting rapper Da Baby in Charlotte, North Carolina. They shot the music video for “Just Want” shortly after recording the song at Da Baby’s private studio in Charlotte. The video now stands at 90k+ views. As opportunity continues to present itself, Lico is making every effort to seize the moment. His latest single “Catch A Case” was released in October 2019. The video racked up 112K+ views in under a month. Lico is currently working on his upcoming EP. Other projects in the work include, “Stunna4vegas” and “GoYayo.”

PERSONAL
252 Lico is 5ft 11in tall and he’s African American and Caucasian. His flow is often compared to that of Meek Mill and Stunna 4 Vegas. One of his goals is to have at least a few platinum songs and to open his own recording studio one day in his area. He believes his biggest breakthrough came from his single with Da Baby.
