1TakeJay is an American rapper and member of the OneTakeBoyz collective. He’s known for tracks like “To Da Neck”, “Arco” and “I Like B!tches.” His full-length debut, Wait Hol’ Up, dropped in 2018. In addition to OneTakeBoyz members, he’s collaborated with acts like Rucci, Problem and Blueface. Jay was born on June 26, 1995, in Compton, California. He attended Centennial High School, where he met future OneTakeBoyz members 1TakeQuan and 1TakeTeeZy. Jay continued his studies at El Camino College. He played football growing up.

CAREER
The OneTakeBoyz crew began sharing their music via SoundCloud in 2014. Early tracks include “wolf tickets” and “Feelin That.” The group’s debut project, OneTakeMovement, arrived in February 2015. It was supported by songs “Bout Whatever” and “Solo.” The group’s second project, QueBaall, was released in June 2018.

1TakeJay’s first viral track “To Da Neck” was released in mid-2017. It was produced by LewisYouNasty. Jay dropped his debut project, Wait Hol’ Up, in May 2018. It was led by singles “Arco”, “I Like B!tches”, “I Know” with Kalan FrFr, and “Bleed Em” featuring AzChike. Wait Hol’ Up featured production from Bruce24k, Saltreze, S.Prod, and a few others. The official video for Arco has been viewed 1.4+ million times on YouTube.

In June 2018, 1TakeJay premiered his Talkin Sh!t EP. The 3-track project was spearheaded by the single “Can’t F#ck With You”, produced by SammyP. Next, Jay teamed up with Rucci for the collaborative mixtape, The Winning Team. The tape was released in October 2018 by Mackk&Co. It includes tracks like “Weed Pills & Drank”, “Can’t Tell Me Sh!t” and “Tax Season” featuring AzChike. Jay had a guest verse on Problem’s “F#ck Me Too” single, alongside Casanova and Saviii 3rd. He dropped a remix to Kodak Black‘s “ZeZe” towards the end of November 2018. Other recent drops include “Hello” and “This Beat Hit.” Both tracks were produced by LowTheGreat.
